To Asteroids and Beyond…

NASA’s latest plans include preparing to send a man to an asteroid in the near future. The idea is that by the mid 2030s, they can then send a man to orbit Mars and return. Currently, scientists are determining which of the 7,000 known asteroids between Mars and Jupiter will be the best landing spot. They hope that by sending a man to an asteroid, they can collect samples, conduct experiments and find out how life on Earth began. Source: AOL News

New York’s Duane Street Hotel is giving it’s customers a literal tax break: they’re offering a “Crunch Time” package which includes a one-night stay in one of their loft-style king rooms, unlimited in-room coffee, copy of the Taxes for Dummies book, calculator and pencils, access to an iPad with TurboTax application, a round of celebratory cocktails at the hotel’s restaurant and a member of the hotel management team will drop off the tax forms at the Post Office. Ride the Wave–a 41.3 mile wave, that is

Thirteen-time national Panamanian surfing champion, Gary Saavedra, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for surfing for three hours and 55 minutes in a 41.3 mile wave created by a power boat. Saavedra replaced the previous record holder, Steven King, who surfed a similar type of wave for one hour and six minutes. Check out Saavedra finishing his surf here. Source: Surfer Today
