Ayia NapaIf the chilly autumnal weather is getting you and your girls down and you’re yearning to feel the warmth of summer on your skin again, it might be time to take advantage of the many cheap flights to Cyprus on offer at this time of the year and take a girlfriend getaway!

Cyprus is the hotly contested island in the Mediterranean that’s not quite Turkey and not quite Greece: not quite East and not quite West. The result is a wonderfully eclectic holiday destination that has something for every type of traveller to enjoy. One of the best ways to enjoy Cyprus is to let it all hang loose and enjoy the island’s wild clubs, pubs and bars and there’s no better resort on the island to do it in than Ayia Napa.

Ayia Napa’s busy season is July through August and during which time the island reaches full capacity and it can be nearly impossible to find accommodation. Bars are packed to bursting point and finding a spot on the beach is out of the question! The autumn months are much more tempered and the weather is still gorgeous, allowing you and your girlfriends enough room on the dance floor while shimmying the night away in Ayia’s world-class bars before stretching out and snoozing your hangovers off on the stunning beaches the next day.

Among Ayia’s best clubs is Black and White, one of the resort’s many popular nightlife spots that blasts out the best RnB tracks to keep you grooving to the wee hours. The club also puts on pre-parties, so you can get your night out started in the afternoon! Grabbarna Grus is also not to be missed: this open air club is the perfect cure for those stifling Cyprus nights and features cheap drinks, excellent tunes, and fire-eater floor shows.

If you need to shake off the rough feeling from the night before, drag your girls out of bed and head for Nissi Beach to grab some sun, sea and sand. Nissi is among the busier beaches, and with good reason. Aside from the stunning beach there are bars, music, watersports and a bevy of interesting people everywhere you look. For once, you’ll be glad you didn’t try to avoid the crowds.
