Missed the big travel stories of the week? And the weird, wacky and insignificant ones? We’ve got your roundup right here…

The Modern Dude RanchThe Modern Dude Ranch
Dude ranches, which originated as far back as the 1800s, started as a place for men (and only men) to stay for a week with horses and an Old West ambiance. With time, the ranches have changed to incorporate the needs and interests of the modern man. The ranches–which still have horses and wranglers– now include pools, conference centers, spas, zip lines, paintball, ATV rides, naturalists, kids’ clubs and rock walls. Oh, and women and children are welcomed now too! Source: USA Today
Hidden Airport Surprises
Most travelers cannot imagine their airport having anything besides security checkpoints, first-class lounges, duty-free shops and restaurants, but the surprising news is many airports have much much more to offer travelers. For instance, the best children-friendly airports are Philadelphia (PHL) and Frankfurt (FHA) which have NannyCaddy vending machines and locales for birthday parties, respectively. Other airport surprises? Calgary and Detroit Wayne County Airport have the best spa services and Singapore Changi has a nature trail. Source: ABC News

Finnair’s Ode To Bollywood

A Finnair flight from Helsinki to New Delhi paid a tribute to Bollywood on a flight to commemorate India’s Republic Day. The staff took part in a Bollywood-style choreographed dance sequence for the travelers–an idea given by flight attendant Helena Kaartinen–and was performed on January 17th. Source: Daily Mail
