Look up in the sky! It’s a bird….it’s a plane! No….it’s your weekly air travel news! Here’s what’s happening in the world of aviation, from the ground up.

Do they charge for doggie treats?
Itching to get away with Fido or Fluffy but just not sure how to go about it? Try contacting Animal Airways. Animal Airways facilitates every aspect of your pet’s travel whether in the cabin or in cargo. Air travel being what it is for humans these days, your pet will likely have a more comfortable flight than you! You can also  check out Pet Airways, which flies to nine destinations. The best part? The “pawsengers” always fly in the cabin where they’re safe and comfortable.

Best of both worlds?
Two of the smaller airlines in the US, Midwest and Frontier, are going to become one. Dare we hope that this consolidation results in the best of both airlines? Comfortable seats, chocolate chip cookies AND Directv (for a fee of course)?

Best seat in the house
Seating on airplanes could by no stretch be called comfortable except for those lucky/wealthy few in the upper class cabins. Even the so-called premium seats like the bulkhead and exit rows have their drawbacks. can take a lot of the guesswork out of choosing a seat but it all comes down to what is more important to you: legroom, underseat storage, reclining seats, etc.

Our tax dollars at work
Congress has our backs! Just a week after Spirit Airlines announced that they were planning on charging for carry-on baggage as well as checked our politicians are charging to the rescue. They are proposing a bill that would tax any airline that charges carry-on fees. Sometimes they do get it right!
