Jet Set Zero: Risk Necessary, Money Optional

Working abroad might be the most challenging yet rewarding way to experience a foreign culture. Regardless of what time of day your job begins and ends, or in which part of town it’s located, you’ll become entrenched in the local economy and way of life. Think about sharing a lunch break with a group of co-workers, gleaning insider knowledge about a place, learning bits of a foreign language and tasting typical midday snacks.
The founders of Jet Set Zero wanted to tap into this well of cultural insight, creating a window into something real, and taking travel to another level of immersion. They created an online experience complete with video episodes, blog entries and photos, capturing what it’s like to move to a foreign country, get a job and become a local resident.
Each season of Jet Set Zero features a new cast of four adventurers who must fund their own travel to a destination (this season begins in Quito, Ecuador), find their own jobs, live together peacefully under one roof for three months, and create content for the Jet Set Zero Web site.
As a result of it all, the team hopes, those armchair travelers watching and following along at home will be inspired “to find their own path.” Because after all, leading a jet set life has little to do with money, and everything to do with taking risks, and being open to whatever new experiences may be presented along the way.
You can read more about the new season, cast and crew on the Jet Set Zero Web site (hint: The new cast is composed almost entirely of our best travel buds!). More on their fantastic adventures all through the summer!
