Look up in the sky! It’s a bird….it’s a plane! No….it’s your weekly air travel news! Here’s what’s happening in the world of aviation, from the ground up.
Airline Fees
Not to give them any more ideas, but a recent survey by Airfarewatchdog.com discovered that some airline passengers would be willing to pay an extra fee if it would allow them to be the first to disembark. No, this fee is not yet being charged by any airline, but some experts say it just makes sense – if passengers will pay more to be the first on the plane, why not charge them more to be the first off the plane? Speaking Of Airline Fees
With few exceptions airlines are routinely charging for checked baggage and, in some cases, even carry-on baggage. Keeping that in mind, one of the best things you can do for yourself while traveling is to pare down both your luggage and what’s inside it. Travel bags are being manufactured with that in mind – lighter is better. What you put in it is up to you, but sticking with essentials in coordinating colors can take you around the world and back lightly. Source: Yahoo
Reclining Seat Disaster
Kelly Osborne isn’t having a good couple of weeks in the air. Two weeks ago she had a bout of air rage while on a flight and more recently suffered an injury at the hand of the passenger seated in front of her. When they reclined their seat she somehow managed to incur a black eye as a result. She took to Twitter to vent and Delta Airlines bore the brunt of her expletive-laden wrath. Source: MSN.NZ
TSA Does Good
We know there are a lot of, shall we say, hiccups with the whole security process and the TSA oversight. It’s great to see that they’re trying to do the right thing when it comes to our wounded military personnel. The Wounded Warrior/Military Severely Injured Joint Support Operations Center Program is aimed at making the entire airport screening process as simple as possible for qualified passengers.
